Akhavan Sigari Lodge

Akhavan Sigari Lodge is dating back to QAJAR period. It has 1320 square meter, 1800 infrastructure, 5 yards and 15 rooms. According to Iran Cultural Heritage Organization, various parts of the house were built in the early, middle and late QAJAR period and part of it belongs to the PAHLAVI period. No information concerning the commissioner is available, but, as it was long owned by Mr. Akhavan Sigari (who was a merchant of tobacco), this house commonly called after him. At the early of the PAHLAVI period, was changed the function of the house to school which from 1920 (for about 20 years) had been one of the most important schools in YAZD city. In Nov.1994 was bought by a number of architecture professor of the university to repair and revival, and started to repair immediately. In order to the protection of the house, it had been student dormitory for many years and at the same time had been held number of university classes such as “historical houses repair” and so on. In Jun. 2011, this house was bought by Mr. RAZAVI and was started repairing workshop again in that time. SIGARI HOUSE on 15 Mar. 1997 was registered by cultural heritage organization and the house is using as a touristic place currently which many people daily visit it and accommodation for tourists (dormitory & bed) as well.
